Market Drivers

Massive Underground Utilities Expansion

Riyadh's rapid population growth(31M in 2020 to 40M by 2030) is increasing demand for utilities like water, sewage, and electricity networks. Trenchless technology offers a less disruptive alternative to traditional construction, reducing traffic and life disruptions.

Simultaneous Giga Projects

Several Giga projects are under development in the country, requiring meticulous coordination to minimize the impact on traffic and existing infrastructure. To achieve this, adopting advanced technologies, such as trenchless solutions, is critical.

Stormwater Management

With increasing rainfall, Saudi Arabia is implementing stormwater and drainage programs across 13 municipalities, leading to significant construction of drainage networks.

Metro Construction

Giga projects include underground metro systems, which rely on trenchless tunnel boring technologies.

Wastewater and Sewage Networks

The country aims for 95% wastewater network coverage by 2030 (currently at 62%), requiring extensive infrastructure development.

Trenchless Solutions

Highly dense cities like Makkah rely on trenchless and micro-tunneling technologies for optimizing underground infrastructure in a bid to minimize disruptions.

Oil & Gas Pipeline Network

Significant construction efforts continue to expand Saudi Arabia's oil and gas pipeline infrastructure.

Testimonial

Chris Turnbull Dorsch Middle East

“It was a privilege to participate in this morning’s panel discussion at the Trenchless Technology Conference. Our conversation focused on the importance of learning from past experiences and applying those lessons to shape a more efficient and resilient future. Saudi Arabia, under its Vision 2030, presents a tremendous opportunity to embrace advanced solutions such as trenchless technology especially in the face of climate change, the rise of AI, and growing infrastructure demands”

Bandar M Alshammari General Manager of Capital Projects Division, National Water Company

“Thank you for the opportunity to be part of the International Trenchless Exhibition & Conference (ITEC 2025). This event has been incredibly valuable in supporting our efforts to explore and implement trenchless technologies across capital projects currently in the design and technical study phases. The timing of ITEC 2025 was ideal, aligning with the advancement of our approved project portfolio, many of which are now moving into execution. The conference facilitated meaningful networking, engagement with global suppliers and manufacturers, and exposure to new innovations that will further strengthen our implementation strategies. My appreciation goes to the Great Minds team for delivering a well-organized and impactful conference. I look forward to future collaborations and continuing to bring these conversations into actionable outcomes”

Eng. Bandar Bin Habib Al-Anazi General Manager of Roads, Bridges, and Tunnels, Riyadh Municipality

“This event brought together a wide range of industry professionals and technology providers. We were able to engage with companies offering innovative solutions, allowing us to exchange experiences and approaches that differ from one city or region to another. This kind of knowledge-sharing is crucial to advancing our practices and enhancing the efficiency of public infrastructure projects.Conferences like ITEC 2025 are essential for public utilities such as the Riyadh Municipality to connect with solution developers and stay informed about cost-effective and non-disruptive technologies. For example, trenchless methods can be up to ten times more cost-efficient compared to traditional tunneling. These are the types of insights we must consider as we plan and execute future projects”
